Chapter 3

Floor 1 of the Seoul Tutorial Tower smelled like wet stone and old copper.
Riven had claimed it three hours ago — or rather, the Dungeon God class had claimed it through him the moment he set foot in the first chamber. He could feel the tower's skeleton like a second nervous system: twelve floors, eighty-three rooms, three boss chambers, currently zero monsters.
Zero monsters was a problem because the Tutorial required kills for progression.
He sat cross-legged in the entrance chamber and opened the Dungeon Interface. The spawn table was empty but editable. He had been given a starting budget of 400 Dungeon Points.
GOBLIN SCOUT — 15 DP each
STONE GUARDIAN — 80 DP each · MANA SLIME — 25 DP each
Riven did the math. He could fill the first four rooms with Goblin Scouts and watch other tutorial participants farm them. Every kill inside his dungeon generated 2 DP for him.
Or he could build something that no tutorial participant would survive — and evolve his dungeon faster.
He drummed his fingers on the stone floor.
"I was a history teacher," he reminded himself. "I know how sieges work."
